Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know about KINO, the daily film and TV guessing game.

Is KINO free?

Yes. KINO is completely free to play. There is a new puzzle every day and you never need an account.

How often are new puzzles added?

A new film or TV puzzle is published every day. Past puzzles stay available in the back catalogue.

Where do the clues and facts come from?

Release years, box office figures, directors, networks and cast are gathered from publicly available sources and checked by hand for each title.

Are the puzzle images real posters?

No. Every puzzle image is an original illustration created for KINO. No posters, screenshots or studio artwork are used.

Do I need to install anything?

No. KINO runs in any web browser. On a phone you can add it to your home screen to play it like an app, but there is nothing to download.

How is my score worked out?

Your score depends on how few clues you needed to name the title. Solving on an earlier clue scores higher than solving on a later one.

Can I play puzzles I have missed?

Yes. Every past puzzle is in the films and TV archive, with the answer, the facts and where to watch it.

How do I get in touch?

You can reach us any time through the contact page.
